Meet Advisory Council Member: Faithe Colas

Faithe Colas began a 29 year career in communications and public relations with the Milwaukee Courier newspaper in 1987 and retired as publisher in 2007.  Faithe joined The Salvation Army in the winter of 2007 as the community relations director for Milwaukee County.  She now serves in the capacity as the assistant divisional director of development for The Salvation Army.

Faithe is the president of Brain Brawn & Body a health and wellness website for African American men and the managing partner with VonCommunications, a public relations business.  Both Brain Brawn & Body and VonCommunications were founded by her husband, radio host and political commentator, the late Eric Von.

She is a Business Journal Woman of Influence Alumni, a graduate of Cardinal Stritch African American Leadership Program and has a bachelor’s degree in Biblical Studies from Midwest Bible College in Milwaukee.

She is a former contributor to Milwaukee Public Radio’s Lake Effect and a former host of Milwaukee Public Television’s (MPTV) Black Nouveau.  She co-published Bronzeville, A Milwaukee Lifestye: A Historical Overview, a book profiling Milwaukee’s African American business community and co-produced MPTV’s Punching In, a documentary recognizing African American men and women who build Milwaukee’s Black middle class through the manufacturing labor force.
