Meet the Xecs
The executive board of Social X is staffed by intellectual entrepreneurs that are as creative as they are brilliant in bringing one idea after another to life. Our Xecs, pride themselves on effectively emphasizing the “fun” in function to properly support the delicate balance of energy and information in all things. Therefore, they are not only the leaders of the Social X Movement, they are also the clients.
Marquayla Ellison - president
Social X MKE President, Marquayla Ellison is a proud Milwaukee native and the creative force behind Ellastic Designs, LLC, a graphic design firm. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Design and Visual Communication from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 2013. One of her favorite things to do in Milwaukee is attend local music festivals like: Jazz in the Hood, Skyline Music, and Summer Soulstice. Marquayla is passionate about the arts and continually gives back as a board member of Artworks for Milwaukee, a volunteer of the Milwaukee Film Festival - Black Lens Program, a member of the UWM African American Alumni Group, and a member Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.
Ranell Washington - vice president
Advocate for all things related to economic development and wealth creation via business ownership, Ranell Washington is currently Assistant Vice President of Business Banking at Town Bank. Ranell obtained a BS in Finance and Marketing, and a Certificate in Real Estate from (Thee) University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (#UDubb #PantherProud). Known amongst his peers as the unofficial Mayor of Milwaukee, he is a champion of and for all things Milwaukee. A volunteer for Secure Futures, which educates high school students about financial literacy, a founding board member at Milwaukee Excellence Charter School, and corporate communications coordinator for Black Lens MKE, a pillar of Milwaukee Film. Ranell enjoys all things related to finance, higher education, and the arts.
Tenia Fisher - director of health & wellness
By day, Tenia Fisher is molding young minds by teaching first graders at Greater Holy Temple Christian Academy. Her lifelong love of running and fitness was furthered by attending UW-Milwaukee on a full track & cross country scholarship. Continuing to spread the love of fitness to youth, Tenia was the head track and cross country coach at Rufus King High School for 11 years. She is now the Lead Captain of F.E.A.R. (Forget Everything And Run), a Social X program. Her favorite places to run in Milwaukee include the east side, trails, and of course, the lakefront. As a proud Milwaukeean, Tenia looks forward to building the fitness and social aspect in Milwaukee, as the Director of Health and Wellness.
Micala Queary - director of programming
Micala Queary currently works as the communication & events manager for YWCA Southeast Wisconsin. She is mostly known for her social media management, writing and event planning expertise. Micala graduated from Clark Atlanta University with her Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Relations Management. While she enjoys meeting and welcoming new young professionals to the city, Micala is proud to call Milwaukee home.
Anita Mogaka - Marketing Associate
Anita Mogaka was born in Kenya, raised in Minnesota and is now proud to officially call Milwaukee her new home. She received her BS in Finance and Marketing, and a Certificate in International Business from the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee in May 2017 (#PantherProud). During her time at UWM, Anita was a part of the Black Student Union serving as Vice President (2014-2016) and President (2016-2017), a member of the African Student Association, and founded a new student organization for women of color, Sister In Solidarity. Anita continues to serve as leader through her sorority, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated and enjoys networking and volunteering with other young professionals as a member of the Milwaukee Urban League Young Professionals group.
