Join us for the 8th Annual Lit Hour hosted by Social X MKE! Dedicate an hour of your Tuesday morning to engage with young minds, share insights about your career, and enjoy reading together!
Volunteer responsibilities include:
Fully committing to your volunteer shift and promptly informing the event coordinator at info@socialxmke.com if you need to cancel.
Spending an hour with students, discussing your career journey and reading to them. Books will be provided.
Advanced registration for school background check required.
Please note:
For the safety of students, all volunteers must complete and pass a background check. Applicants will be denied for felony charges or convictions involving drugs, weapons, abuse, reckless endangerment, sexual offenses, child abuse or exploitation, violent crimes, human trafficking, arson, terrorism-related offenses, serious OWI offenses causing harm or death, or any attempt or conspiracy to commit these crimes. Pending charges in these categories will result in temporary ineligibility until resolved. Final eligibility decisions are determined by GHTCA through its accreditation process, and chaperone selection is at the discretion of school administration. The school does not discriminate based on any protected characteristic.
We will be reading to students from K5 - 4th grade, and setting up career day activities for older students in grades 5 - 8. During registration, you can select the grade level you prefer to work with.
