Happy Black History Month (BHM)! Originally established as Negro History Week in 1926, it has since expanded into a month-long tribute every February, honoring the achievements and impact of the Black community. There are numerous ways to participate in Black History Month: you can show support for Black entrepreneurs and businesses, contribute to Black organizations and charities, educate yourself by watching documentaries and films on Black history, or attend local events dedicated to Black History Month. Black Lens film programmer, Marquise Mays has laid out an Xtraordinary line-up, starting off with Renaissance: a Film by Beyoncé on  February 1st @7pm - Oriental Theatre. “Right to Read”  Movie screening
